Naz Ressas
Portfolio Manager & Analyst
Naz is the Portfolio Manager for the Optar Australian Concentrated Fund and related strategies, and back-up PM for the Optar Australian Research Fund. He is also the Investment analyst for the Resources, Steel, Transport, Health Care and Consumer Staples sectors. Naz has over 15 years experience managing concentrated portfolios ranging in size up to A$10bn. Naz has over 26 years investing experience having worked as a Senior Portfolio Manager at Colonial First State, an Senior Investment Analyst at UBS Global Asset Management and an Investment analyst at Alliance Bernstein. Naz holds an MBA and Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology Sydney.
Oliver Ansted
Portfolio Manager (backup) & Analyst
Oliver is the Process Facilitator for the Optar Australian Research Fund and back-up Portfolio Manager for the Concentrated Fund. Oliver is the analyst for Hotels & Leisure, Media, Banks, Insurance and Diversified Financials sectors. Oliver has over 25 years of investment experience having co-managed portfolios at Colonial First State and being a senior analyst at Colonial, Concord Capital and J.P. Morgan. Oliver was a top rated Media and Gaming analyst at J.P. Morgan, Oliver holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia and is a Chartered Accountant.
Paul Brunker
Analyst
Paul is an analyst covering the Energy, Telecommunications, Building Materials, Consumer Discretionary and Real Estate sectors. He has over 33 years experience in financial markets, both in the UK and Australia. Before joining Optar Capital he was a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan Sydney where he was a senior analyst covering Equity Strategy and Telecommunications and Head of Equity Research. He has a degree in Modern History and Economics from the University of Oxford and a Master’s in Economics from the University of London.
Ben Atkinson
Analyst
Ben is an Investment Analyst and back-up Dealer for the Optar Capital funds. His research coverage includes the Agriculture, Chemicals, Contractors and Funds Management sectors. Ben has previously worked as a Research Analyst at Moelis covering Small Caps, Agriculture and Technology, and as an Analyst at Dimensional Fund Advisors. Ben holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales, through the UNSW Co-Op Program.
